Forest Road Masterplan, Enfield, London
After we had been commissioned to design the new Forest Road health centre, the question arose of what should happen to the site of the old health centre. Demolition of the old health centre, and of some obsolete local authority flats gave scope for reorganising ownership boundaries and reconfiguring a larger surrounding area. We worked with a developer client, assisted by the local authority (LB Enfield) which owned part of the site, to consider various options.. The Masterplan identified suitable sites for an extracare housing scheme and a shared ownership housing scheme, whilst improving security to the rear of existing houses surrounding the site.
