Monks Park Clinic, Wembley, London
This was the first LIFT scheme to be completed in the London Borough of Brent. It provides services including GP, nurse practitioners, family planning, sexual health, podiatry, diabetes and speech and language therapy clinics. It also includes an office base for refugee support teams and meeting rooms bookable to external groups as well as offices for the PCT.
The contemporary detailing includes timber louvres that help to shade windows and the glass block external walls of the stairwells.
Internally bright colour has been used to assist orientation, to provide a cheerful interior and to help avoid an ‘institutional’ feeling.
