Dransfield Owens de Silva’s award-winning healthcare design is rooted in our careful attention to understanding our clients’ aims and ambitions for their particular project. We also commit to working with them to ensure that their expectations are exceeded. We specialise particularly in primary and mental healthcare design including GP and dental surgeries, primary care health centres and inpatient mental health accommodation.
We have considerable experience in helping our clients to develop their project brief, including stakeholder facilitation sessions with proposed staff and service-users. We understand the particular issues that relate to healthcare design such as infection control, privacy and dignity, facilities maintenance, future flexibility, etc. We also recognise that the patient needs a reassuring and enjoyable experience and that staff need an efficient unit that functions seamlessly. We take on board all of these concerns and design to provide a safe, secure, humane and therapeutic environment. Our interest in sustainable buildings means that we are well equipped to help NHS clients with meeting Carbon Strategy requirements.
One of the key tenets of our practice is that the directors remain
actively involved throughout all stages of briefing, design
development and construction and we ensure that we allow
appropriate time allocation to meet this service.
